The benefits of a campsite in Fréjus Beach

Come and stay at the Ecolodge L’Etoile d’Argens, where you can explore and enjoy the most beautiful beaches and coves of Côte d’Azur. Around Saint Aygulf and Fréjus, there are plenty of beaches and rocky inlets to go and spread out your towel. As a bonus, most of these beaches harbour a preserved environment in an idyllic spot, just waiting for you to come and stretch out and relax and jump into the blue waters!

The closest beach to our Côte d’Azur campsite is the Esclamandes Beach. This natural beach located in a Natura 2000 site “Embouchure de l’Argens”, stretches over several miles of soft, fine sand between the south of Fréjus and the François Léotard nature base, and the north of Saint Aygulf. The length of this beach is especially advantageous as it means there is plenty of rooms for all kinds of beach-goers. You can also reach the beach via a 15-minute bike ride, through a protected trail.

Here, near the mouth of the Argens river, where the river waters meet the Mediterranean sea, animals are also welcome. Dogs and their owners are able to take a beach walk without a care. Further down south, off the coast of the beach, there is a special zone reserved for kite-surfing. These two zones are naturally no-go swimming areas. Meanwhile, near the central part of the beach and the middle of the Villepey pond, you will find a small spot dedicated to nudists. South of these zones, the use of the beach becomes more conventional. Visitors come here to swim, and watch their children build giant sandcastles while they tan nicely in the sun.

To get to the Esclamandes Beach, leave your vehicle at home! Forgo the stress of trying to find a decent parking spot and simply hop aboard our water-bus shuttle (crossing fare not included)! Cast off from our campsite at Saint Aygulf Beach, and enjoy a 20-minute or so crossing across the Argens river. Make the most of this crossing and disconnect as you soak in the gorgeous preserved nature around you, while admiring the fauna and flora found at the mouth of the Argens.

Take a hint from Mother Nature
Ever since the water-bus shuttle was set up, I am one happy bird. I use it every day! No need to spread my wings and fly all the way over to the beach. Now, I can just perch myself on the captain’s hat and voila! I arrive on the fine sandy beach in a matter of minutes!
