A Green camping experience in Var
from the beach
More than just a simple campsite in Fréjus, come visit our unique, exceptional establishment by the sea
Surrounded by a vineyard, a botanical garden and the Argens river, where the water cascades into the Mediterranean sea, just a few hundred metres from our 5 star campsite in Var, the Ecolodge L’Etoile d’Argens stretches over a luscious green land of trees and forest over 16 hectares long.
At the entrance to our campsite, you will find a car park, reception, a waste sorting area and an activity zone. Come and splash about in our water park (in our swimming pools, paddling pools or hot tubs), sample quality cuisine and beverages in our bistronomic bar-restaurant with two terraces, as well as in indoor space and rooftop. Browse our own supermarket, show off your moves on the tennis courts, mini-golf and multi-sports terrain. Let your children explore their playground, rent a bicycle from our rental stand, plug in your car at our electric vehicle station, let the children roam free at the mini-club, and treat yourself to a bit of TLC at our spa and wellness centre. This is the nerve system of our campsite in Fréjus, the hub of all the activities and entertainment we provide to our holidaymakers.
On the banks of the river, you will find the nautical base of the Ecolodge L’Etoile d’Argens. Our campsite in Fréjus by the sea invites our guests to rent out canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards, so they can sail along the waters of the Argens river and join up with the Mediterranean sea. Also at this nautical base, you will find our diving club, ready and waiting to take any guests out on excursions or scuba-diving baptisms.
Head along the banks of the Argens river and onto the boarding point to go and explore the wild Esclamandes Beach via water-bus shuttle (crossing fare not included). One quick, 20 minute trip, and you will arrive at your beach destination. Our transport system allows you to travel through an entirely preserved natural landscape, without having to use your vehicle. Guests may also join the sandy beach on foot (a 50 minute walk for those really looking to stretch their legs) or by cycling on our protected pathway (just a 15 minute pedal).
The first eco-friendly campsite ever in Var
Ever since the campsite was taken over by new management, the new and current owners of the Ecolodge L’Etoile d’Argens have turned this establishment towards the latest tourism trend: open-air establishments that blend luxury and nature, the ultimate comfort and the ultimate respect for the environment. Determined to stand out from the crowd, the campsite offers top-of-the-range, high-quality, original holiday rentals. Our campsite in Fréjus is all about eco-friendly development.
To help us focus on this goal, we put all our effort into catering to our guests’ well-being and protecting their health, as well as protecting the fauna and flora present on our domain and the surrounding territory. Nestled in the heart of a Natura 2000 site “L’Embouchure de l’Argens,” a nature reserve that stretches over 1.380 hectares on the Côte d’Azur, between Fréjus and Saint Aygulf, the Ecolodge L’Etoile d’Argens has also been awarded the Green Key label, as well as the EU Ecolabel and is certified as a Qualité Tourisme brand. Lastly, our establishment is considered as a bird sanctuary by the LPO (League of the Protection of Birds).
The Ecolodge is located in an exceptional environmental spot in the heart of the Natura 2000 site which our campsite aims to preserve
A Botanical trail, in the heart of our campsite
In order to offer our guests a glimpse of the precious biodiversity of the Natura 2000 site where our establishment is located, right in the heart of it, we have installed a botanical trail over several hundred metres long which leads to the river.
Head there on foot, cycle over, by yourself or with company, for a bucolic amble or to take your four-legged friend out for a walk. For whatever reason, wander down this trail and admire the abundance of remarkable trees and plants, such as weeping beech, fig trees, Tilia platyphyllos, Canary Island date palm, evergreen oak, Judas- tree, or oleander.
At the foot of each tree and shrub dotted along the trail, you will find an educational sign indicating the name of the species, its Latin name, family, and purpose. Thanks to these signs, hardcore nature lovers will have fun deciphering the medicinal plants from the edible ones. The younger guests can also join in with the activities based around this botanical trail during the summer, thanks to the mini-club for children.
Go and explore our botanical trail, and soak up the tranquillity of nature and the rich surrounding biodiversity.
On the Esclamandes Beach, the wooden terrace on our lodge overlooking the river, in the jacuzzi in the water park and on board the pontoon of the nautical base… Not only did we enjoy being surrounded by our loved ones far away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, but also to be in such harmony with our surrounding nature.
Thank you Ecolodge L’Etoile d’Argens for teaching us to preserve the precious nature surrounding us at your campsite!
